As an independent doula, I provide continuous care from pregnancy through birth and into the postnatal period.
I see the doula’s role as multifaceted: a supporter, an interpreter, and a companion. While taking on these various roles, I focus on care that places the birthing and parenting person and their family at the centre.
What Is a Doula?
The role of a doula is multifaceted:
Mothering
I provide care that is warm, supportive, and reassuring, creating a sense of safety and encouragement. By being continuously present, I aim to be a trusted and calming presence—a secure base you can rely on.

Interpreter
I help make medical and parenting information understandable, and support communication with healthcare professionals. Being fluent in both Japanese and English, I can also act as a language bridge for Japanese-speaking families.

Companion
I honour your experiences of birth and parenting, offering attentive support and empathy. I am there to share the full range of experiences—the joyful, the challenging, and the unexpected—standing alongside you through each moment.

Quick Questions via WhatsApp
For clients who choose the Standard or Full Support doula packages, I offer the option to ask questions about pregnancy or postnatal / neonatal anytime via WhatsApp.
I aim to respond within 24 hours, although there may be occasional delays due to holidays or birth attendance, in which case I will let you know in advance.
Having someone available to answer your questions at any time is part of the reassurance and support my doula service provides.
